Finally

It's taken me so long to write that I actually have a lot of updates.

First, here's what chives look like when you let them grow really long.

This is my favorite picture of the day: radishes, from Oma! I like how the light hits them.

The carrots are just starting to grow like a little mohawk:

The beets are back:

And this is the first of the Big Mama lima beans (!):

The first green bean, about to emerge:

The strawberries seem to be perennials, and they look to have even more flowers this year:

Eric showed up to help water in his suit! I mean, he showed up in his suit to help water. As far as I know he didn't water in his suit.

Three cherry tomato plants: two from the farmer's market, and one that appeared by itself in the corner of the garden, just like last year.

Finally, here's a top-down view of the tiny baby tomato plant at the bottom of a big tomato cage. I like the optimism this picture conveys!

Ooh ooh ooh

Today was spring cleaning day for the whole community garden. Unfortunately I got there too late to help on the group tasks. But I did hear one of the other gardeners say that our website linked to a site where you can plan your garden online. So I went and found it, and here's my garden plan! You can click for more detail:
As an added bonus, after you put in your planned plants, you automatically get a list and a calendar of when to plant and harvest them:
My high enthusiasm for the pretty colors may be due in part to the fact that the seeds I got by mail order came in the least inspiring packaging possible:
